Hey, {{first_name}}!
Are you a CREATOR or CONSUMER?
⚡️ F5 Fast Files (Quick Summary):
🧠 Would the facts say you’re creating more than you’re consuming?
💰 Consumption is at an all-time high—media, finance, etc. What can we do?
🔥 This week’s challenge: Become a producer, not just a consumer.
Quick Shout-out to our F5 brother- Daniel Jones. His family has battled through his son’s cancer treatments. And this week, because of their incredible efforts, they were recognized by a national company and rewarded with a brand-new backyard playground for their kids. You inspire us, Dan! Keep the good fight!
Creator or Consumer?
“In times past, one of the great influences that unified families was the experience of struggling together in pursuit of a common goal—such as taming the wilderness or earning a living. The family was an organized and conducted unit of economic production.
Today, most families are units of economic consumption, which do not require a high degree of family organization and cooperation.”
— President Dallin H. Oaks
Do you remember hearing that in General Conference this month?? It threw me for a serious loop. I want you to check yourself real quick-
60-Second Self-Assessment: Consumer Vs. Creator
🕒 1️⃣ How many hours this week did you spend consuming media?
A. 1–3 hours
B. 4–10 hours
C. 11+ hours
The average Netflix user watches 2.3 hours per day, and the average social media user spends about the same.
That’s over 32 hours a week—nearly a full-time job—spent consuming.
We’re not running out of time. We’re throwing it away.
💸 2️⃣ What percentage of your income do you save or invest versus non-essential spending?
A. 15%+ saved or invested
B. 10–14% saved or invested
C. Less than 10% saved — most goes to consumption
In July 2025, U.S. exports totaled $280.5 billion, while imports hit $358.8 billion.
That’s a $78.3 billion trade deficit—up nearly $19 billion in a single month.
And our national debt?
💰 $37,982,545,176,092 (almost $38 Trillion!)
That’s $111,282 for every single person in America.
We’re becoming a consumer nation instead of a titan of industry.
The Cost of Comfort
Every man faces this crossroads:
👉 Consume what others create
or
👉 Create and feed the hungry- Spiritually, economically, socially.
When we default to consumption, we become spectators in our own lives.
But when we build, write, serve, lead, teach, and create,
we reclaim our POWER and PURPOSE.
Jesus Christ is the ultimate creator. Not only did He create this earth and “without Him was not anything made that was made”, but He continues to create value for us. He feeds us, gives us life, and creates for us a bright eternal future. When we create, we become more like our Savior.
YOU were meant to CREATE.
🔥 Challenge of the Week
This week, audit your consumption/production ration in all five F’s, then try one of the following:
1️⃣ Plant a garden! You’ll appreciate food more and it’s delicious!
2️⃣ Replace 30 minutes of scrolling with an uplifting social media post.
3️⃣ Ask yourself- How can I create value for my loved ones today? Then act!
You’re a World-Builder!
