Yesterday wasn’t a great day at the house.
Actually… it was a pretty frustrating one.
I’ve been working on paint prep for all the trim and doors. That means:
filling hundreds of nail holes
sanding them smooth
caulking every seam
masking off the walls
covering the floors
taping around doors and baseboards
The whole house. It’s incredibly tedious.
To make matters worse, I had told my father-in-law that everything would be ready for paint by the time he arrived to help.
It wasn’t.
There was still a lot left to do.
⚡️ F5 Fast Files - Short Summary
Order creates power.
Systems prevent chaos.
Does acting out of order create extra work or innovation?
It’s not oppressive compliance, but alignment with truth.
📣 Big shoutout to YOU this week. You’ve fought through adversity and you’re a better man because of it! Take the next step up the mountain this week and keep climbing to new heights! 💪
😅 Where I Went Wrong
While we were painting the walls earlier in the project, I had an idea.
I thought:
“We’re already here. The equipment is set up. My father-in-law is here to help. Let’s just get it done.”
So we painted.
The problem? We painted out of order.
Normally trim gets painted along with the walls all at once. But by jumping ahead on the walls we created a situation where now we have to mask the entire house before spraying the trim.
More work. More time. More frustration.
Taking on some trades ourselves and changing the sequence, we’ve created extra work that increased the timeline.
The timeline is the biggest stressor right now because this house is our home.
So ironically…
The person pushing the timeline back the most is me.
💡Wisdom and Order
That experience made me think about a scripture:
“See that all these things are done in wisdom and order.”
— Mosiah 4:27
This same chapter mentions wisdom a lot, but it’s always paired with the word ‘power’.
Here we find ‘Wisdom and order’ instead.
Which made me wonder…
Is order powerful?
🔌 The Power of Order
Think about it.
In business, we call order systems.
Systems are powerful because they make results repeatable.
That’s how businesses scale and why franchises exist.
In fitness, there’s order too.
You don’t do your heaviest lifts first and then go back to warm up.
There’s a progression.
Because the order of operations protects you and helps you grow.
And what about family?
The family itself is powerful because it has a divinely established order.
“Honor thy father and thy mother.”
“They shall become one flesh.”
“Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God.”
There is so much power in the family unit.
🔥 Aligning With Truth
Sometimes when we hear the word “system” or “order,” it sounds restrictive.
Like someone is trying to force everyone into the same mold.
Order isn’t about control or oppression.
It’s about alignment with true principles.
When we align with truth, we step into power that already exists.
Now, someone might ask: “What about creativity?! Innovation happens when people break systems.”
It’s true that important new ideas come from thinking outside the box, often making improvements to the order and systems we’re currently using.
But even then, we aren’t inventing truth, we’re discovering it.
When we create something new, we’re simply aligning ourselves with truths we hadn’t seen before.
⚔️ The Challenge
Self-Reflection: Where in my life am I working out of order?
In business
In fitness
In family life
In my faith
Where could better systems reduce chaos?
Where could alignment with true principles create more power?
Order isn’t restrictive.
It’s empowering.
And when we align ourselves with truth we step into power that’s already there waiting for us.
“Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing, and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God”
